Governors

Anthony Reynolds - Chair of Governors

I have been a community governor at this school for the last four years and this year I have taken the role of Chair.

I am retired after working in Education for the past 35 years and being a governor now means that I can share some of my experience to make Staplegrove an even better school.

I am keen to see that the children in our school enjoy their learning in a safe and caring place so that when they leave, they are keen to learn and are well prepared for the next stage in their education.

Bindi Anstee - SEN Governor

I have been a parent Governor since 2011 when my children started school.

I bring to Governors a background in Further Education and SEND management, then more recently running my own business as a licensed Accountant.

My focus as a Governor is largely around SEND, HR and the schools capacity to enrich the lives of our children.

Alan Ranger - Community Governor responsible for PPG

I have had a long association with Staplegrove Primary as my grown up son attended the school. I am now retired, but most of my working life was within Education. I was a Primary School Teacher, Headteacher and Local Authority Advisor, all these experiences being within Somerset. It a privilege to work with the staff, children and parents at the school and I hope my previous experiences and expertise will be useful in supporting the school to develop further.

Matt Nolan - Parent Governor responsible for Safeguarding

I have recently been appointed as a Parent Governor at the school as I have a strong desire to support the local community in Staplegrove representing the views of parents and children that attend the school.

I have worked in primary education previously and currently I work in Further Education at Richard Huish College where I am a Student Support Manager working across Safeguarding, Mental Health, Student Finance  and Enrichment. I have a background in Sport and Physical Education and believe that children have the ability to learn through effort and hard work.
I feel it is a privilege to be appointed as a Governor and I will use all my knowledge and experience to ensure that the children and staff have the best opportunities possible to succeed.

Iona Young - Governor

I have re-joined the governing body as an ex officio member and representative of St John’s Parochial Church Council. As a retired teacher who has worked in secondary schools and a Sixth Form College I welcome the opportunity to be involved in the education of our children in Staplegrove and I hope some of my professional experience can be of value to our school.

The school enjoys an excellent relationship with St John’s Church and I hope that we will be able to further develop and strengthen these links for the benefit of the school and wider community.
