Science Week
A few weeks ago, the whole school did an amazing project for science week. Cedar and Willow had to make an electric game or toy. The options we had were: a quiz game, an electric car or a buzz wire game. Luckily, we had recently been learning about circuits and electricity.
The Quiz Game
For the quiz game, you would get a wire and you would use it to connect the answer to the question. When you connected the correct answer to the question, it would complete the circuit and therefore set off the buzzer and/or light.
The Car
For the car, we had a motor and a fan at the end with a battery connected to it. The power from the batteries would run through the wires making the motor work and spinning the fan to hopefully move the car.
The Buzz Wire Game
For the buzz wire game, you had a wire with a hoop on the end. You have to get it from one end of a twisted wire to the other without the edges of the hoop touching the wire. Basically, there was a wire connected to a buzzer and/or light so when the hoop touches the wire it sets off the buzzer and/or light.
My Team
We were split into teams depending on what we wanted to make. My team wanted to make a car. First of all, we made the design of the car using plastic bottles. Then we made the circuit and stuck it on the car. Finally, we decorated the car. Our car moved slightly but only one other team that was doing the car managed to move theirs.
Overall I found science week really fun.
