In RE we investigated who the man in the picture was and the stone carving.  We found out it was St Peter and then investigated his life as one of Jesus's disciples. Finally, we looked closely at the stone carving and had great fun making one of our own sculptures from soap.

Visit to the Old Mexican

Oak Class have visited the Old Mexican to cook and taste authentic Mexican foods. We all tasted the foods, we made delicious flat breads and topped them with yummy chicken, chorizo or vegetables and then ate them!

Have a look at our pictures below.

Oak and Cherry class enjoyed a fun packed day of all things Guatemalan on Thursday 8th January 2015.

Children came to school dressed in brightly coloured clothing and took part in a range of activities. These authentic activities included making their own Sombrero, re-creating Mayan patterns and pictures, learning about the Mayan number system, as well as playing the game Pok-a-tok! Ask your child to share this with you, its hours of endless fun. A day to remember for all!

Mr. and Mrs. Bristow visited us on Monday 17th November to show us their musical instruments and explain how they make sounds. We learned that our voice is also a musical instrument and learned a new song. Press play for a short clip!
Today in Oak class (Friday 14th November) we made.........TRENCH CAKE! This cake was eaten by men on the front line during WW1, a tasty treat from home was really welcomed.

Information/Coffee Morning

Oak class designed and made their own ear-muffs with a partner.  The main aim was to muffle the sounds in the classroom but they also thought about the fit and comfort was a high priority!
