The children in Oak Class thoroughly enjoyed their Easter Cracked celebrations. The children shared their ideas about the symbolism of the cross and captured this thinking in their books. They then used this and other ideas to create their own Easter decoration to be displayed at the church. The children learnt how to use slip to attach decorations to their tile. The children continued to learn about symbolism by making hot cross buns. We found out that the spices in the buns symbolises the spices used when embalming Jesus' body. To finish our exciting week, we designed and made Easter 'pop-up' cards, thinking carefully about the best materials to used and how to made our cards 'pop.'
