PCSO Visit
Today Willow Class were visited by PCSO Tony Wearmouth, we took part in a 'Choices and Consequences' workshop. It was very informative and we learnt lots!
Easter Cracked
We had a great day out at St Andrews Church where we looked closely at the Easter story.
British Science Week - Demo Day
As part of British Science Week the children of Willow Class joined thousands across the country in a pledge to 'demo' a science investigation. Mrs Daykin showed the children how pencils could be inserted through a plastic zip-loc bag, filled with water, without the water leaking. The children then visited other classes to 'demo' the investigation. We had a great time and the children were fantastic at explaining the Science behind it.

A visit from Somerset Heritage Centre
Willow Class were very lucky to participate in a workshop about Somerset and the First World War with Mrs Hoyle from Somerset Heritage Centre. The children used a range of skills to investigate archives relating to the people and places of Somerset. It was a informative and fascinating morning!
The children were invited to Wells Cathedral to take part in Over By Christmas - A play in a day. During the day, the children joined with two other schools to find out about World War One through a range of workshops. They experienced the assassination of Franz Ferdinand and the start of the war, the excitement and drama of recruitment and conscription in the opening months of the conflict, the terror of the trenches and going over the top and the absurd events of Christmas Day 1914 - German and British soldiers singing carols, burying their dead and playing football.
The day culminated in a performance to parents!
London 2016
Children from Willow Class joined with children and staff from Norton Fitzwarren Church School on an exciting week long trip to London during September. We experienced a packed programme of activities which included a visit to the Natural History Museum, Imperial War Museum and the National Gallery. We braved the heights of the London Eye to see a fantastic view of London and took part in a walking tour which took us to many of the major sights of the city. Whilst at the PGL activity centre we tried our hand at abseiling, zip wire and the power fan. We all had an amazing time!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
