Welcome Willow Class 2021
I hope you have all received the postcard which was sent from myself and Mrs Boston. We are thrilled to soon be welcoming you into Willow class. In preparation for Year 6, I would like to you complete two activities for me during the summer holiday. Both of your tasks will be displayed in the classroom so please make sure you start the year off by taking your time and making them the best they can be.
I’d like you to send me and Mrs Boston a postcard. It doesn’t have to be a bought postcard, it could be one that you design yourself. I’d like you to tell us what you’ve been up to and how you’re feeling about joining us in September. It needs to be postcard size, have a picture or image on the front and writing on the back. You can either post it to us or you can drop it off in the mail box by the office.
The children who have been in Willow this year completed this task during their first week in Willow class: they looked so brilliant that I kept them up all year. First you need to chose a silhouette which I’ve uploaded: I will put a selection in the school office in case you can’t print them (these will only be available from Monday 13th until Thursday 16th July). You then need to cut it out, draw around it and then fill it with pictures which represent you. It could be food you enjoy, sports, TV programmes, film, hobbies etc. I don’t want you to put your names on them because we are going to guess whose is whose during the first week back. Remember, take your time and put plenty of effort into this – it might end up on display. I have uploaded a few examples to give you some inspiration.
You don’t have to use these silhouettes, you might want to use a torch and plain paper to create a silhouette of your actual side profile.
Have a wonderful summer holiday and stay safe. We can’t wait to see you in September.
